📌 Scenario for Reflection
Anthony had been praying for direction in his life, but everything seemed to be falling apart. Doors were closing, opportunities were slipping away, and he felt like God was nowhere to be found. Frustrated, he considered taking matters into his own hands—forcing things to happen instead of waiting for God.
One evening, he heard the sermon that reminded him of Jonah’s story. “Lord, wreck my ship if I’m going in the wrong direction.” It hit him hard. What if these setbacks weren’t obstacles, but God redirecting him? Instead of fighting, Anthony surrendered. Days later, the clarity he had been seeking came unexpectedly, in a way he never could have orchestrated on his own.
💡 Lesson:
Sometimes God allows things to fall apart so He can rebuild them the right way. When we surrender, praise, and trust Him—even when we don’t understand—He shows up in unmistakable ways.
Why do you think we struggle to trust God’s timing?
Fear of losing control
Impatience and wanting quick results
Sometimes I struggle with doubting God
Not recognizing when He’s already working
💬 Discussion Question for Comments:
Have you ever had a moment where you thought God was absent, only to realize later that He was working behind the scenes the whole time? How did that experience shape your faith?
I can remember once really needing a financial blessing. Instead of worrying about it, the night before I looked up and said "Lord, do you see me?" The next day I got an unexpected check in the mail from a recall on a car I had 10 years prior.
