Trusting God to Show Up in Unmistakable Ways

Have you ever found yourself in a season of life when it feels like nothing is going right, and you’re not sure where God is? Dr. GreGory’s recent sermon was a powerful reminder that when we praise, when we wait on God, and when we align ourselves with His Word, He shows up in unmistakable ways. Here are some highlights and reflections from that message.

God Responds to Authentic Praise

Through examples like Daniel in the Lions’ Den and the Three Hebrew Boys in the fiery furnace, Pastor reminded us that when we praise God with sincerity, He often manifests His power and presence. Just as those biblical heroes experienced miraculous deliverance, so can we.

“Lord, Wreck My Ship if I’m Going in the Wrong Direction”

Drawing from the late Bishop Norman Wagner’s message, Dr. GreGory emphasized the importance of surrender: “Lord, if my life is headed the wrong way, please wreck my ship so I can get back on track.” This plea resonates with the story of Jonah, who had to be thrown into the sea before God could steer him in the right direction.

Beyond Ritual: Being Honest About Our Struggles

In the sermon, Pastor challenged us to be honest with ourselves. We can’t grow if we’re pretending to have it all together. Whether it’s a hidden habit, a lingering hurt, or unresolved issues, we become dangerous to ourselves and others when we refuse to admit our brokenness.

Five Loaves and Two Fish”: The Balance of Power in Our Hands

One of the central themes Dr. GreGory explored was the story of the young lad who presented Jesus with five loaves and two fish—an offering that miraculously fed thousands. It’s a timeless reminder that God can multiply whatever we give Him, regardless of how small it seems. Yet Pastor went a step further, emphasizing our need to be ready when we ask God a question. He had been pondering, “Who is this lad?” all week, and God answered him, “What if I told you the lad was Me?” In other words, Jesus didn’t just multiply bread and fish; He multiplied Himself—proving that He is the ultimate source and power behind every miracle.

Unity and Suddenly Moments

Referring to Acts Chapter 2, Dr. GreGory reminded us that when believers come together “with one accord,” suddenly the Holy Spirit moves. In the service, there was a special moment when Pastor instructed everyone: “Sit down and get unified—God wants to rush it to you.” He then illustrated this himself by rushing to his seat as well, so that he was unified with the congregation. A hush of unity fell over the sanctuary, drawing everyone into a collective expectation of God’s immediate work.

Pastor went on to highlight how only one lad came fully prepared with five loaves and two fish to hear Jesus on the mountain, then posed the question, “What if they all came prepared?” If we, too, come prepared and choose to sit down in unity, God will pour out blessings “shaken down and running over.” When everyone’s heart aligns with God and each other, a “suddenly” moment of divine favor can transform an entire community.

“He Will Show Up”

Above all, Dr. GreGory reassured us that God’s timing is perfect. He will show up—maybe not how or when we expect, but always for our good and His glory. Our task is to keep believing, keep praising, and keep surrendering.
